Elisa Guasconi is a research fellow in Educational Research – M-PED/04 at the Department of Education Sciences "G. M Bertin", Alma Mater Studiorum, University of Bologna. The title of her research fellowship is: "Formative assessment in the classroom: video analysis to promote teachers' beliefs and practices."
Education
In 2023 (on June 15), she obtained her Ph.D. in Pedagogical Sciences, particularly in Educational Research(M-PED/04) at the Department of Education Sciences "G. M. Bertin" at the University of Bologna.
In 2016, she graduated with honors in Primary Education Sciences (old system) with a focus on "primary school" at the Department of Education Sciences "G. M. Bertin", Alma Mater Studiorum, University of Bologna.
In 2014, she graduated with honors in Primary Education Sciences (old system) with a focus on "kindergarten" at the Department of Education Sciences "G. M. Bertin", Alma Mater Studiorum, University of Bologna.
Scientific Activity
She currently collaborates with the Educational Research group at the Department of Education Sciences of the University of Bologna, under the supervision of Ira Vannini, in a project aimed at exploring the effectiveness of video-analysis techniques in the pre-service training of primary and kindergarten teachers to enhance their reflective skills.
From 2019 to 2023, during her Ph.D. studies in Pedagogical Sciences, she designed and implemented an experiment in lower secondary school aimed at assessing the effect of introducing formative assessment practices on students' reading comprehension skills. During her Ph.D., she visited the Department of Mathematics and Science Education at Umeå University (Sweden) and participated in seminars, conferences, and meetings with the research group supervised by Prof. Torulf Palm, who was conducting projects on the effectiveness of formative assessment practices in the specific field of mathematics.
From January 2024 to the present, she collaborates with the Interuniversity Center-CRESPI (group A) on a PRIN project entitled "Educational poverty, cultural disadvantage and social inclusion inside and outside the school. Teachers' professional development
Research in the post-Covid" aims to define and develop intervention models to support the professional development of teachers in Italian lower secondary schools, in order to counteract educational poverty and school failure phenomena. She also collaborates with group B of the same Center on a research project aimed at investigating and defining the evaluation methods of the impact of Teacher Professional Development Research on teachers' professional development.
From 2019 to 2021, she collaborated on the Teacher Professional Development Research project "Planning and assessment skills in schools". Within this project, she conducted activities such as in-service teacher training on evaluative practices (formative assessment) in lower secondary schools; data collection and analysis on teachers' evaluative and design beliefs, and dissemination of research results.
In 2016, she collaborated on the research project "FAMT&L (Formative Assessment in Math’s Teaching and Learning)" providing support in the implementation of a teacher training course that used video-analysis methodologies to promote changes in mathematics teachers' evaluative beliefs and practices in lower secondary schools (first and second grade).
In 2015, she collaborated on the implementation of a research project entitled "PraDiVap (Teaching and Assessment Practices in Primary Schools)" concerning the validation and construction of an observation tool for teaching practices of primary school teachers from a formative educational evaluation perspective.

She participated in the following events:
- First International Higher Education Pedagogy Conference entitled "Developing academics’ pedagogical acuity" – Session E: "Assessment for/ of learning, competences, and provision of feedback" (date: 16/09/23, Crete).
- SIPED 2023 national conference entitled "Giving voice: pedagogical, educational, and training professionalism. 100 years after the birth of Don Milani" - Panel 4 of the Junior Conference (date: 15/06/23, Florence).
Series of seminars organized by the Department of Mathematics and Science Education at Umeå University (Sweden), where she underwent part of the training period of the Ph.D. course in Pedagogical Sciences, with a presentation entitled "An investigation on formative assessment practices for improving equity and quality in education” (date: 30/09/22).

Since March 2024, she has been conducting the Assessment laboratory within the same teaching of the Degree Course in Primary Education Sciences at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia.
Since 2017 and up to now (with a break corresponding to the doctoral period), she has been conducting the Educational Design and Assessment Laboratory within the same teaching of the Degree Course in Primary Education Sciences at the Department of Education Sciences "G. M. Bertin".
From 2018 to 2021, she served as a platform tutor for the "Annual intensive course for the qualification of professional and socio-pedagogical educators" promoted by the Department of Education Sciences "G. M Bertin" (coordinator Prof. Giovanna Guerzoni).
In 2016, she provided teaching support for the Educational Research group at the Department of Education Sciences "G. M Bertin".
School Activity
She is currently a teacher (on leave for research fellowship) in kindergarten at the "C. A. Casaroli" State Comprehensive Institute located in the province of Piacenza.
From 2017 to 2019, she was a teacher (permanent position) at the "Tina Pesaro" kindergarten, part of the "Casaroli" Comprehensive Institute located in the province of Piacenza, and she was a member of the Institute Council
