Elena Vai, PhD in Architecture and Design Cultures at University of Bologna, is coordinator of the Research Centre on the Cultural and Creative Industries (C.R.I.C.C. ) at the same University. Since 1995 she has operated as event designer, curator, mediator and producer of cultural and editorial projects on the topic of Cultural and Creative Industries.
Since 2014 she has taught and works in the Advanced Design Unit of the University of Bologna.
She is editor of the book Cultura, creatività, industria. Culture del progetto e innovazione di sistema
in Emilia-Romagna, Luca Sossella, 2017. She published articles in international scientific journals (Strategic Design Research Journal, CPCL – European Journal of Creative Practices in Cities and Landscapes, PAD – Pages on Arts and Design e diid – disegno industriale industrial design, MD Journal).
She is author of Design e mutazioni. Processi per la trasformazione continua della città, Bononia University Press, 2021, together with Elena Formia and Valentina Gianfrate.
