He has got a PhD in Theology and Patristic Sciences at the Augustinianum Patristic Institute in Rome in 1995, he obtained a Master degree in the Sciences of Languages, History and Cultures of the Mediterranean and Islamic countries (41/S - Lauree Specialistiche in Lingue e Letterature Afroasiatiche) in 2009 at the University of Naples l'Orientale. He has been teaching at the Theological Faculty of Bologna since 2004. He is a founding member and vice-president of the Gruppo di Ricerca Arabo-Cristiana (Group for Arabic-Christian Research [www.grac.it]) in which he continues his research activity. He teaches Islam at the Institute of Religious Sciences ss. Vitale e Agricola of Bologna and Liturgy of the Catholic Church at the Theological Faculty of Bologna.
