Scientific activities, articles and other writings:
The research activity is carried out in the Department of
Chemical, Mining and Environmental Engineering, University of
Bologna. The main research fields are:
- Processes for the production/separation of chemicals from food industry wastes and other organic wastes;
- Processes for the biogas production (methane and hydrogen) from food industry wastes and other organic wastes;
- Processes and technologies for site remediation (soil,
subsoil and ground water);
- Biodegradation of chlorinated and non-chlorinated organic
compounds in soils, groundwater and industrial wastewaters;
- Modelling of bioreactors and kinetic studies of
fermentation;
- Development of novel reactors and processes for the
production of biodiesel.
- Characterisation and modelling of mechanically
agitated vessels and reactors ("slurry" reactors, gas-liquid
reactors, fermenters, mixers);
- Mass transfer in gas-liquid systems;
He has co-authored about 100 papers (books, journal papers
international conferences etc).
