My work focuses on language education and applied linguistics in relation to language learning and interpreting. My research interests include the analysis of spoken interaction in multilingual contexts, the assessment of linguistic and communicative competence, and innovation in language education through educational technologies, with a recent focus on the use of AI systems. I teach Linguistics for Interpreting, Communication in Institutional and Specialised Settings, and Modern Language Education. I am Unit Coordinator for the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Doctoral Network HODACE, Cross-disciplinary Horizon for Oral Language Acquisition, and leader of WP3, Language Education for Inclusive Communication. I have held the Italian National Scientific Qualification for Full Professor (Sector 10/G1) since June 2026. I am the DIT Delegate for Public Engagement and educational/PCTO programmes with schools. I am also a member of the Quality Assurance Committee for the Master’s Degree Programme in Interpreting and of the Academic Board of the PhD Programme in Translation, Interpreting and Intercultural Studies.
