I serve as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Bologna, teaching the course on CLOUD PLATFORMS AND DEVELOPMENT METHODOLOGIES LABORATORY. My background is in Electronic Engineering, and I hold a Ph.D. in Computer Science with a focus on Theoretical Informatics, both degrees earned from the University of Bologna. My doctoral thesis, titled "Formalizing Languages for Service-Oriented Computing," explored the formalization of languages designed for Service-Oriented Computing. This work laid the theoretical groundwork for the development of the Jolie programming language (https://jolie-lang.org [https://jolie-lang.org/] ). Since then, my interests have expanded to include the evolution of Jolie and, more broadly, the field of microservices architectures.
My current research interests encompass:
- Autonomic microservices
- Cloud-based distributed architectures
