Currently I am a PhD Candidate in the University of Bologna since November 2022. My research interests are focused on the intersection of environmental activism, civil society, and state control in Russia, with a particular focus on the evolving role of NGOs under shifting geopolitical and political constraints. I examine how the Russian non-profit sector has transformed post-2022, the rise of GONGOs, and the state's increasing influence on environmental advocacy. My work also delves into protest dynamics, the communication strategies of environmental organizations, and the broader implications of Russia’s ‘turn to the East’ for civil society engagement. Through mapping and analyzing these trends, I aim to contribute to a deeper understanding of how authoritarian governance shapes activism, public discourse, and transnational cooperation in the environmental sphere.
Education
I hold a Master's degree in Political Science from the University of Salamanca, Spain. My Master's thesis focused on a comparative analysis of the implementation progress of SDG 16 in the post-Soviet region.
