Anna Maria Porcelli

She is Full Professor at the Department of Pharmacy and Biotechnology, University of Bologna (UNIBO). Her research in the field of biochemistry and cellular biochemistry is focused on the biology and bioenergetics of mitochondria with the aim of understanding how these organelles and respiratory complexes contribute to metabolic and hypoxic adaptation during tumor progression. She is funded by the Italian Association for Cancer Research (AIRC), Fondazione Veronesi, the Italian Ministry of Education and the Worldwide Cancer Research, as well as by the European Commission. Involved in national and international research projects, she collaborates with several European and US research groups and she has been Coordinator of a H2020 Marie Curie project and WP leader and member of the coordination team of a FP7 Marie Curie project. Since 2012 she is a member of CIRI - Life Sciences and Technologies for Health  and since 2021 is member of the Board of the Centre for Applied Biomedical Research. From July 2024 she is Coordinator of the Cellular and Molecular Biology PhD program at Unibo. She is the author of numerous scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals.
