Adjunct Professor MED42 at the University of Bologna with experience in biomedical research and toxicology. Has taught at various Italian and international universities, published extensively, and developed in vitro models for applying the 3R principles. Research focuses on the interaction between environment and health, with emphasis on oncology and reproductive toxicology. Among the first in Italy to use transcriptomics to analyze cellular transformation, applying this technology to in vitro and ex vivo models. Contributed to the development of oncogenic transformation assays and validation of in vitro tests for the OECD. Leads the GLP Facility VitroX, part of the EU-Netval network, and is a member of international panels, including EAGMST and OECD groups on IATA and NGTxC. Actively involved in PNC projects on Health, Environment, Biodiversity, and Climate, as well as initiatives on health impact assessment and Environmental Health Literacy.
