Andrea Fiorini was born in Forlì on 26/02/1974. After graduating
on 07/10/2002 (with a mark of 110 out of 110) in Conservation of
Cultural Heritage at the University of Bologna with a degree in
Medieval Archaeology (supervisor prof. Andrea Augenti), he won an
annual scholarship (21/04/2004 – 20/04/2005) for the
research project on the Assessment of the archaeological
potential of the ancient city of Classe. He has been a member
of the Society of Italian Medieval Archaeology since 2004
(membership number 228). On 02/07/2010 he successfully
discussed his PhD in Archaeology presenting a dissertation entitled
Archaeological Architecture in Romagna, a project for the
construction of an atlas of medieval building techniques (under the
supervision of prof. Andrea Augenti). In December 2010 he
signed a two-year research collaboration
(01/01/2011 – 31/12/2012) having been awarded a
Post-Doctoral fellowship in the study of Castles of the province
of Ravenna and Forlì-Cesena: methods and tools for the analysis of
structures (under the supervision of prof. Maurizio Cattani,
Department of Archaeology, University of Bologna). In November
2011, the University of Bologna assigned him a teaching module
(Academic year 2011/2012) on Themes and methods of
archaeological research (prof. Antonio Curci) at the Faculty of
Conservation of Cultural Heritage in Ravenna (Advanced Study in
Research, Documentation and Preservation of Archaeological
Heritage). In November 2012, the University of Bologna assigned him
the same teaching module (Academic year 2012/2013). In
January 2013 he renewed a contrat of research for a period of one
year (01/01/2013 – 31/12/2013). In 2013 he was
scientific co-director of the research project Il
castello di Carbonana (Gubbio, PG): analisi archeologica
dell'elevato. The archaeological investigations (14/05/2013 -
22/05/2013) have identified the construction techniques and the
history of building transformations of the castle. He is
operative chief of the Laboratory of Archaeology of Architecture at
University of Bologna (scientific director prof. Andrea
Augenti).
