Curriculum vitae

Research fellow at Sapienza University of Rome, his work focuses on architectural representation and the documentation of built heritage. His research interests include digital strategies for understanding and sharing historical architecture, architectural drawing analysis, and the intersection between traditional representation and emerging technologies. The role of architectural freehand drawing holds particular significance in both research and teaching. Currently, his research is centered on the enhancement and dissemination of architectural drawing archives.

Education

He earned a Master’s degree in Architecture in 2012 from Sapienza University of Rome, with a thesis on digital representation in the architectural design process. In 2016, he obtained a Ph.D. in Sciences of Representation and Surveying, focusing on new technologies for graphic systems.

Academic Career

He has been involved in various academic research projects, including the DSDRA 2023-2027 Excellence Project, dedicated to the digital documentation of Rome’s built heritage, and the 3ReaD project, focused on integrating digital data for architectural surveying. He also collaborated with the Getty Foundation on the interdisciplinary conservation plan for Stadio Flaminio in Rome.

He has served as a speaker and lecturer in numerous seminars and conferences and has participated in the organization of international events on architectural representation and the digitization of graphic archives.

Teaching Activities

Since 2015, he has taught in several undergraduate and graduate courses at Sapienza University of Rome. His teaching experience includes courses such as Representation and Visual Culture of the City in the Master's Degree in Urban Regeneration, Theory and Techniques of Drawing for the Bachelor's Degree in Fashion and Costume Sciences, as well as courses in Fashion Illustration, Graphics for Public Design, and Digital Drawing and Painting.

Scientific Activities

He has contributed to numerous national and international research projects, focusing on the digitalization of architectural heritage and the graphic representation of the built environment. He is the author of multiple publications on these topics, including articles in top-tier scientific journals and contributions to collective volumes. Additionally, he has co-edited conference proceedings and volumes dedicated to the digital documentation of architectural heritage, with a particular emphasis on graphic archives.

Membership in Scientific and Editorial Committees

Member of ISAP (Institute for Advanced Studies on Heritage), established in 2024 as a departmental research hub promoting the development of DSDRA in research, teaching, and third-mission activities.
