Associate Professor of Linguistics at the University of Bologna since 2014. Her research revolves around how meaning is packaged into linguistic structures, with special focus on concept-naming strategies, evaluative semantics, emergent grammar, non-literal meaning and linguistic creativity. She works within usage-based constructionist approaches, combining qualitative analysis with quantitative and experimental methods as well as with typological investigation.
She is Editor-in-Chief of Constructions and Frames, member of the Permanent Committee of the Mediterranean Morphology Meetings (MMM), scientific coordinator of the Experimental Lab at the LILEC Department, and co-founder of Linguisticamente, the first Italian website for the popularization of linguistics.
She is currently Rector's Delegate for Open Science, data and research assessment, and co-chair of the Italian National Chapter of
CoARA (
Coalition for Advancing Research Assessment).
