Cristiana Facchini is a Professor of History of Christianity and Religious Studies. She studied in Bologna and further specialized in Oxford, Turin, Jerusalem, and Paris.
She has been a Fellow at the Max Weber Centre for Advanced Cultural and Social Studies (Erfurt), the IIAS Israel Institute for Advanced Studies (Jerusalem), and the Hebrew Union College (Cincinnati). Additionally, she has served as a Visiting Professor in Bielefeld and Haifa and as a Visiting Fellow at Oxford.
Her research focuses extensively on the history and theories of religion, with particular attention to Christianity and Judaism. In 2015, she was one of the keynote speakers at the XXI IAHR (International Association for the History of Religions) World Congress, held in Erfurt.
She is the Editor-in-Chief of Quest – Issues in Contemporary Jewish History and a member of the Doctoral School in Global Histories, Cultures, and Politics.
