Claudia Paz Sanchez Alvarez

Currently a researcher at the Department of Physics and Astronomy "Augusto Righi", I specialize in complex systems in geophysics. My research focuses on volcanic dynamics, fluid dynamics, rheology, granular materials, infrasound, glaciers, and optics metrology. I design experimental setups to investigate physical phenomena, emphasizing physics-based approaches to geophysical processes. I earned a Ph.D. in Physics at the University of Santiago of Chile and have conducted research at world institutions, including the Earthquake Research Institute at the University of Tokyo. My expertise bridges experimental physics and geophysical applications, such as magma rheology, volcanic acoustics, and glacier dynamics.
