HISTORIAN Function in a professional context:The graduate studies historical and social phenomena, particularly those related to globalization processes, conducting research, documentation, classification, and analysis of sources of various kinds (written, oral, visual, etc.), with the aim of preserving, enhancing, and making them publicly accessible."S/he develops projects for the protection and enhancement of the historical and documentary heritage preserved in organisations and institutions such as archives, libraries and museums. She/he produces documents on various media related to the historical dimension of globalization, both in an academic-specialist and popularizing context.Competencies associated with the function:The graduate possesses specialised competences and knowledge in the field of historical and social disciplines.S/he knows how to identify, classify and make accessible diverse sources related to their field of specialisation.The graduate has the skills and competencies necessary for the proper management and enhancement of historical and documentary heritage. S/he uses the English language to communicate in a detailed and articulated form the contents to their field of specialisation.Job opportunities:Public and private institutions and bodies responsible for the analysis and enhancement of historical-documentary, cultural, environmental, and artistic heritage (archives, superintendencies, museums, foundations, cultural institutes, etc.).Public and private organizations that conduct historical and social research at national and international levels.Companies, businesses, and cooperatives that offer consulting and collaboration services for the study and use of heritage and historical memory on a global scale. EXPERT IN THE STUDY, MANAGEMENT, AND CONTROL OF SOCIAL PHENOMENA CONNECTED TO GLOBALISATION Function in a professional context:The graduate develops and manages projects aimed at analysing and monitoring social phenomena, particularly those related to long-term global phenomena such as migration, international relations, cultural exchanges and the resulting social phenomena. S/he detects and analyses the quantitative and qualitative dynamics of socio-cultural processes, with particular relevance to processes pertaining to global flows of people, goods and ideas.Competencies associated with the function:The graduate possesses subject- and area-related skills and linguistic competences that make it possible to investigate and understand the historical, cultural, and political dimensions of globalisation, as well as to plan, organise, and manage projects aimed at managing and controlling the social phenomena that derive from it.The graduate uses the English language to communicate in a detailed and articulated form the contents to their field of specialisation.Job opportunities:Social work sectors, institutions responsible for cultural and economic cooperation, cooperatives, NGOs, and organisations operating in the field of management and control of social phenomena related to globalization.
