Admission requirements
In order to profitably attend the second cycledegree programme in Law and Economics, students must have acquired adequateskills in economic analysis and legal studies. In particular, applicants to the2nd cycle degree programme in Law and Economics shall meet the followingrequirements:
1. Have a degree in one of the following classes:
ex Italian Ministerial Decree no. 270/2004:
L-33(Economics)
L-18 (Economics andBusiness Management)
L-14 (Legal ServicesSciences)
L-36 (Politics andInternational Relations)
ex. ItalianMinisterial Decree no. 509/99:
classes 28(Economics)
classes 17 (Economicsand Business Management)
classes 31 (LegalSciences)
classes 2 (LegalServices Sciences)
classes 15 (Politicsand International Relations)
or according to the previous four-year degreeprogramme system:
A degree in Economics and Business, BusinessEconomics, Political Economy, Law, Politics or equivalents, or a suitablequalification obtained abroad.
2. Have acquired CFU credits in the followingscientific areas within the Italian degree or other qualification obtainedabroad:
- law: at least 16 CFU in subject areas IUS/01,IUS/04, IUS/05, IUS/07, IUS/09, IUS/10, IUS/12, IUS/15, IUS/17, IUS/21;
- economics: at least 16 CFU in subject areas SECS-P/01,SECS-P/02, SECS-P/03, SECS-P/04, SECS-P/05, SECS-P/06, SECS-P/12;
- mathematics, statistics and business: at least 8CFU in subject areas SECS-S/01, SECS-S/03, SECS-S/06, SECS-P07, SECS-P/08,SECS-P/09, SECS-P/10, SECS-P/11, SECS-P/13.
If the above-mentioned requirements 1 and 2 arenot met, admission to the 2nd Cycle Degree Programme is subject to a specificpreliminary assessment of the candidate's academic career by a Committee appointedby the Board of the Degree Programme in order to check the required skills.
This assessment, and the interview where required,will also apply to candidates holding a four-year degree from the previousdegree system and those holding a qualification obtained abroad.
The Committee will set a calendar for the assessmentsbetween August and September, which will be published on the University Portal.
If the Committee considers satisfactory the levelof the candidates' knowledge and skills, they will be admitted for furtherassessment as described in the following paragraph.
In the event of compliance with the curricularrequirements described in points 1 and 2 above, admission to the 2nd cycledegree programme is in any case subject to the assessment of personalcompetencies and skills by the aforementioned Committee. Such assessment willbe based on the analysis of the candidate's curriculum.
The 2nd cycle degree programme in Law andEconomics may have restricted access according to the available resources.
If the Course is activated with restricted access:
If the above-mentioned requirements 1 and 2 arenot met, admission to the 2nd Cycle Degree Programme is subject to a specificassessment of the candidate's suitability by the Committee appointed by the Boardof the Degree Programme in order check the required knowledge.
This assessment, and the interview where required,will also apply to candidates holding a four-year degree from the previousdegree system and those holding a qualification obtained abroad.
The Committee will set a calendar for theassessments between August and September, which will be published on theUniversity Portal. If the Committee considers satisfactory the level of thecandidates' knowledge and skills, they will be allowed to take the access test.
Admission to the 2nd cycle degree programme is subjectto passing a test to assess the students' personal competencies and skills.
Personal competencies and skills are assessed togetherwith the access test for the restricted access programme, held as described inthe call for applications. Students passing with at least the minimum score setin the call for applications will be deemed to have passed such test.
A special Admissions session may be held forinternational students, with a Committee appointed to assess the candidates'personal competencies and skills; this session will be compatible with theschedule established in the call for applications for scholarships (which approximatelyexpires in May).
International students who pass theabove-mentioned assessment are exempted from the assessment of their personalcompetencies and skills required for all the other students.
