Laurea (First cycle degree/Bachelor - 180 ECTS) in Logopedics (for certified professional speech therapists)

The objective of the 1st cycle degree programme is to train health care operators carrying out the tasks attributed by the Decree of the Ministry of Health nr. 742 0f 09/14/1994 and successive modifications and alterations; operators will practice their activities in the preventiative and rehabilitative treatments of speech and communication pathologies in the developing age, in adults and in the elderly.

As part of the health care profession of speech therapists, graduates will have the tasks as attributed by the Decree of the Ministry of Health nr. 742 of September 14 1994 and successive amendments and modifications; that is, that practicing their activities in the prevention and rehabilitative treatments of the speech and communication pathologies in developing, adult and geriatric ages. The activity of graduates in speech therapies is aimed at the education and re-education of all the pathologies causing problems with voice, wording, oral and written language and communication handicaps. In reference to the diagnosis and as part of their competences, graduates process, also in multidisciplinary teams, the outcome of speech therapy aimed at identifying and overcoming health needs of the disabled; they will autonomously carry out therapeutical activities for the functional re-education of cognitive and communicative disabilities using speech therapies for enabling and rehabilitating the verbal and non-verbal communication and they will propose the use of aids and teach their use and assess their effectiveness; they will conduct activities of professional studies, education and consultancies in the health service sectors and in those where their professional skills are needed; they will assess the correspondence of the implemented rehabilitating methods with the objectives of functional recovery.
