Learning outcomes

At the end of the course, students understand some legal topics which are deeply affected by the development of new technologies and the key applicable rules, also as regards the protection of individuals.

Course contents

The Private Law module aims at raising awareness on some legal topics which are deeply affected by the development of new technologies and the key applicable rules, also as regards the protection of individuals.

The module focuses on the main aspects relating to the legal framework applicable in particular to the following topics:

  • introduction to private law, also from a comparative perspective concerning various systems
  • fundamental principles and rules of contract law
  • contracts and new technologies
  • fundamental principles and rules of civil liability
  • damage and responsibility in the new technology market.

Readings/Bibliography

Lecturers will share in cloud schemes, selected texts, and other useful materials which students can use to prepare the exam.

Teaching methods

The module is divided into lectures. Lectures will include the study of practical cases, in order to enable students’ active participation in class.

Assessment methods

Written exam. Students’ participation in class and in extracurricular activities proposed by the lecturers will contribute to determining the final score.

Teaching tools

PowerPoint presentations and multimedia tools (audio, video, explanatory images) will be used during the lectures.
