Learning outcomes

At the end of the activity, the student is able to: • choose the most suitable tools in relation to the objective to be achieved; • choose the most appropriate technique in relation to the objective of the service in which it is called to operate; • identify complementary professional resources to complete their intervention; • establish the methods of evaluating the effectiveness of the interventions; • analyze the relational and institutional context in which it carries out its intervention.

 

Course contents

- - The content of the internship provide for the following activities.



Activities in the presence of the tutor:



- deepening of the role of the psychologist in sport;

- definition of an adequate setting for the necessary intervention and forms;

- Acquisition of theories and techniques necessary to intervene on the field with athletes, coaches and referees;

- analysis of the tools necessary to intervene on the field;

- Preparation of methods for the evaluation of the intervention and the self -assessment.



Progressive autonomy activities with the supervision of the tutor:

- Design and drafting of informed consent modules and data processing for participants in application of professional ethics;

- generation of objectives and plans of shares to be implemented;

- autonom administration of tests, scoring and discussion on the interpretation of the results with the laboratory team;

- application of the proposed methodology, through exercises regarding the techniques of observation, definition of objectives, relaxation, images, self talk, improvement of self -efficacy, team building.



The professional application context is the sporting one.

The intervention area is psychological support and mental training.

The users to which the activity is addressed includes children, adolescents, adults, elderly people.

The professional tools that the trainee will acquire are as follows: administration and interpretation of a tool for the initial anamnesis and the definition of the situation, interview technique, suitable and more frequently used techniques (e.g. imagery and relaxation), management and the evaluation of behavioral observations.

The tutor will provide the slides and the material suitable to carry out the activities.

Teaching methods

The methods used to achieve the skills concern: participation in discussions with the tutor, support of the tutor for practical demonstrations and simulations, group activities with other internships, guided activities and supervised by the tutor, activities in progressive autonomy with deferred supervision of the tutor.

The place of carrying out the activity is the Department of Psychology "Renzo Canestrari", headquarters in Bologna.

Assessment methods

The tutor will evaluate the skills acquired by the trainee, ongoing and at the end of the internship path, using the standardized procedure prepared by the Department of Psychology.

The evaluation will materialize in an attribution of suitability valid for access to the practical evaluation test.
