At the end of the module the student will have the knowledge applied in the field of palliative care
Course contents
At the end of the module, the student has knowledge, as far as his/her competence is concerned, related to medical oncology; he/she has also acquired specific skills in clinical, cellular and molecular oncology and in its diagnostic applications. Contents
1. History and philosophy 2 Epidemiology 3. Organization 4. Models 5. Ethics 6. Legislation 7. Research 8. Personalized care: shared care planning. 9. Prognostic factors 10. Principles of remodulation of objectives and treatments
1. Pain: diagnosis and therapy 2 Dyspnea 3. Cachexia and nutritional problems 4. Inoperable malignant intestinal obstruction 5. Constipation 6. Nausea and vomiting in advanced stages 7. Delirium 8. Refractory symptoms and palliative sedation
These basic principles can be preparatory to a personal motivation for future inclusion in palliative care programs and facilities, also through knowledge of the new school of specialization in "Medicine and Palliative Care"
