Learning outcomes

Cutaneous melanoma is the second most frequently diagnosed tumor in men and the third in women among young-adult subjects and for this reason it is also one of the tumors that determines one of the highest values of loss of years of expected life. Non-Melanoma Skin Cancer (NMSC) are the most frequent tumors of all, among these there are less dangerous forms of melanoma, which however arise preferentially in areas with a high aesthetic-functional impact such as the face, significantly influencing the quality of life of patients, and, if not diagnosed and treated early, they can evolve into aggressive and locally advanced or metastatic forms. NMSC also include rare tumors such as skin sarcomas or Merkel cell carcinoma, which is more aggressive than melanoma. In recent years, clinical studies and therapeutic innovations have led to unprecedented improvements in outcomes in the field of melanoma and NMSC, even in advanced forms. The course program will cover the various topics of epidemiology and prevention, photoprotection and early diagnosis, pathological and molecular diagnostics, surgical therapy, reconstructive techniques, medical therapy of advanced stages and combination therapies, providing a clear and updated picture of current events and prospects future.
