Learning outcomes
At the end of this course, students are familiar with programming techniques and have knowledge on basic instructive concepts that help them accomplish optimal research on different sources like the internet and other databases and develop an awareness to select, deploy and elaborate bibliographical data. This course is intended to complement students’ analytical skills when it comes to carrying out research on databases, identifying data, selecting, grouping and evaluating them and computing the data to draft summaries, documentation and other reports that may be useful for business activities.
Course contents
- Introduction to data and sources about Demographics, Social Economics sources, Social Media and Digital Marketing metrics
- Sources and data about social media communication: as like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Snapchat, Wechat, WhatsApp, Telegram, Facebook Messenger, LinkedIn etc.
- Several different sources about Social Media Advertising and Digital Marketing
- Data sources about Marketing and Marketing Strategies in the Tourism Industry, Transportation Industry; Industrial, Logistic and Commercial Industry, Cultural and Heritages, Health Care and Welfare System.
- SEO and SEM + Google Advertising
- Amazon AWS, Google Digital Garage and LinkedIn Learning access data and training opportunities to new jobs and carriers

Teaching methods
- The attendance of students in the classroom will be evaluated by the teacher in terms of teamwork, attention and proactive participation during the work class
- During the lessons in the multimedia class with pc station, the teacher will introduce topics and web platforms to be reached independently to define and create the work designated by the teacher in the classroom
- Some aspects will concern the complexity of the data sources regarding some case studies that will be presented in the classroom, each student must understand the source of the data numbers and statistics, save the files in their own folder and understand how to analyze files, finally, understand how to create a small report, infographics, a short presentation and then demonstrate their validity and reliability in terms of exploratory, forecasting and predictive outcome
- This type of active work on the PC stations located in the multimedia classroom (GreyLab) will be followed and managed directly by the teacher
Assessment methods
- The final exam consists of a written test administered through a web portal (online test by OEL) with a set of 30 multiple choice questions (generally 3 or 5 closed answers) in 60 minutes, and with an evaluation according to university regulations that will have a grade from a minimum of 18/30 up to a maximum of 30/30 cum laude. Students can refuse the grade only once, there will be adequate time to be able to communicate the confirmation and refusal of the grade, and therefore students are allowed to repeat the exam a second time in agreement with the teacher.
Teaching tools
During the class teacher will present any topics by PowerPoint presentations, www.canva.com presentations and www.prezi.com presentations. These presentations in pdf file will then be uploaded to the virtual classroom of the course named "Virtual Learning Environment" 2024/2025
