Learning outcomes
At the end of the seminar the students obtain good knowledge of Italian grammar and good abilities of oral exposition and writing. The students are able to make appropriate linguistic choices in every kind of communicative situation. The students are able to understand academic Italian in their own degree courses and to participate actively during the lessons.
Course contents
The seminar is structured in the following activities:
- improvement of Italian grammar and language
- analysis of literary texts and essays, reading and analysing in italian language, also to support the study for Contemporary Literary Cultures course.
- improvement of the oral exposure (comprehension and production)- production of "professional" writings(self-presentation; letter of reference; institutional e-mail; presentation of cultural projects; papers and essays)
- comment and analysis of books, movies, and art, focusing on italian culture and history.
Lessons are in Italian language, so it's necessary level A2/B1 of italian language

Teaching methods
Lectures and workshops on different kind of texts, focusing on grammar and language.
Discussions about cultural topics.
Exercises of Italian speaking.
Traditional lectures and analysis of texts.
If it's possible, an educational visit in Bologna will be organized, to know directly some example of italian culture.
Assessment methods
Students are required to prepare each week the suggested material, so to contribute to class discussion.
The students will be asked to prepare a short paper about an Italian text/novel, according to specific formats. In addition to this, during the examination the students are going to demonstrate abilities of speaking in Italian language (A 2 level) and knowledge of texts and Grammar, analyzed during the lessons.
