Learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student: - has competence in analyzing the efficiency of the effector system and the static and dynamic postural response using modern ergometric, metabolimetric, posturometric and proprioceptometric technologies; - is able to plan the kinesiological intervention aimed at the consolidation of the state of fitness, the prevention of atrophic-degenerative pathologies, the arrangement and control of physical exercise in trophostatic syndromes, in the alterations of the capacity of the cardiovascular system and in the recovery of different physical abilities; - has precise knowledge of the principles and methodology of evaluating joint mobility and muscular strength as essential elements for the accurate assessment of the current state of a subject, his progress and the effectiveness of the physical training program. - will have solid skills in evaluating the mobility of the various joint complexes with methodologies to measure each joint movement and will also be able to administer tests for the manual examination of muscle strength in different postures and attitudes.
Course contents
Objective of the Kinesiological intervention and fields of action:
•Preventive
•Formative and/or conservative
•Recreational
•Re-educational in sport
ADAPTED MOTOR ACTIVITY (A.M.A.) MUSCULOSKELETAL SYSTEM
Non-medical exercise programs carried out in groups or in particular cases individually, specifically designed for citizens with chronic non-communicable and stabilized diseases, aimed at maintaining residual motor skills and aimed at modifying lifestyle.
FUNCTIONAL RECOVERY
It consists in the creation of a work path aimed at recovering joint mobility and muscular capacity compromised by injury or surgery. Intervention protocols
RISK FACTORS FOR FALLS
Risk assessment and preventive interventions
Intrinsic risk factors
Scientific evidence
Multisystem syndrome and reduction of autonomy
Intervention protocol
QUALITATIVE AND QUANTITATIVE ANALYSIS OF THE PATH Basic motor pattern, a constitutive element of human motor skills that every human being achieves independently through a natural concatenation of postural patterns. Passenger Unit and Locomotive Unit Gait Cycle, postural adaptation and dynamic stability
Muscle surgery
Evaluation systems
A.M.A.OSTEOPOROSIS
Chronic progressive disease that causes a decrease in bone density, acting both on the mineral component (calcium and phosphorus) and on the organic component, due to an acquired imbalance in the hormonal regulation system that normally regulates skeletal tissue
Scientific evidence
Intervention protocols
A.M.A. FIBROMYALGIA
The term was introduced by two Canadian researchers (Smythe and Moldofky) in 1977. Fibromyalgia (FM) is a chronic disease characterized by generalized musculoskeletal pain
Scientific evidence
Intervention protocols
A.M.A. STROKE
It consists in the creation of a work path aimed at recovering joint mobility and muscular capacity compromised by the event.
Intervention protocols
ADAPTED MOTOR ACTIVITY NEURODEGENERATIVE DISEASES
A.F.A. PARKINSON'S DISEASE
Neurodegenerative pathology characterized by a slow and progressive decline of normal physiological functions, which involve motor, vegetative, behavioral and cognitive pathways.
Scientific evidence
Individual and group intervention protocols
A.F.A. MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS
Currently, regular physical exercise and training are considered a possible solution during the period of the disease by limiting the deconditioning process and reaching an optimal level of activity of the subject and many benefits for physical and mental health without any concern for the onset or exacerbation of disease symptoms or recurrence.
Scientific evidence
Intervention protocols
Technical Practical Activities (A.T.P.)
Students must carry out preventive and mandatory training on the topic of safety. In consideration of the type of activity and the teaching methods adopted, attendance of this training activity requires the prior participation of all students in Modules 1 and 2 of training on safety in the places of study, in e-learning mode (https:// www.unibo.it/it/servizi-e-opportunita/salute-e-sistenza/salute-e-sicurezza/sicurezza-e-salute-nei-luoghi-di-studio-e-rocinio)
1st EXERCISE The phenomenon of falls in old age: evaluation and intervention methods
2nd EXERCISE Unstable surfaces as tools for training balance and neuromuscular control
3rd EXERCISE Gait analysis: theoretical aspects regarding Gait Analysis
4th EXERCISE The role of the kinesiologist in Adapted Physical Activity
5th EXERCISE Muscle and tendon injuries: classification, characteristics and clinical aspects
6th EXERCISE Core training as a form of elite intervention for LBP
7th EXERCISE Upper limb problems
Readings/Bibliography
Students are informed that in-depth study of the topics requires constant updating related to new instrumental technologies and scientific evidence regarding the different application methodologies. Precisely for this reason and also due to the multiplicity of topics, the lessons will take place with the help of slides which will act as a reference for further in-depth analysis with recommended texts or scientific publications. To follow the lessons it is advisable to refer to the teaching material deposited during the previous academic year and then integrate it with the lessons held in the classroom.
The course does not have a single reference text.
Teaching methods
Frontal lessons for the basic topics, integrated with exercises with organized groups and with compulsory attendance (read carefully - Method of verification and evaluation of learning) During the course, seminars will be organized held by highly qualified personnel and regarding application aspects. The topics of the seminars held will form an integral part of the program and may be subject to verification during the exam.
Some seminars may be organized online
Assessment methods
-O TAKE THE EXAM YOU REQUIRE THE MANDATORY ATTENDANCE OF 70% OF THE HOURS OF EXERCISES AND THE PREPARATION WITH THE KINESIOLOGICAL EVALUATION TRAINING ACTIVITY (Period 1)
The verification method is written AND IN PRESENCE The written test will aim to verify the possession of sufficient knowledge of the basic notions of the discipline. The test will consist of 30 multiple choice questions and some open-ended questions. The oral exam can be requested only if the written exam is not passed for two consecutive sessions (not the refusal of the grade). During the exam, it is mandatory to present a valid identification document (university badge) and, in case of suspicion of irregularity, further documentation proving the student's identity may be requested. Please respect the rules while taking the exam and do not copy (the use of smartphones, smartwatches and other electronic devices is prohibited) or communicate with other students. Any form of attempted fraud will lead to the withdrawal of the assignment and therefore the cancellation of the exam Only students who have registered within the established deadlines are eligible to take the exam. You can request to see the corrected assignment (it is not sent via email) after accepting or rejecting the grade.
During the academic year there will be seven exam sessions:
I (January-February) -3 exam sessions
II (June - August)- 3 sessions
III (September) - 1 appeal
Teaching tools
Tools to support teaching
The lessons will be accompanied by visual and audiovisual supports. As part of the practical exercises, the course has equipment for the evaluation and teaching of motor activity in reference to Adapted Physical Activity Teaching material: The teaching material presented in class is made available to the student in electronic format via the internet. This material will provide guidelines for the in-depth studies carried out during the lessons.
