Academic Year 2024/2025

  • Teaching Mode: Traditional lectures
  • Campus: Forli
  • Corso: First cycle degree programme (L) in Sociology (cod. 8495)

Learning outcomes

At the end of the workshop, students will have acquired conceptual knowledge and practical-operational work orientation skills for occupational contexts relevant to the course of study.

Course contents

The LOAL is a training activity (ONLY ONE EDITION PER YEAR) offered with a limited number of places. It is intended for students enrolled in the second and third year of the course and is organised in (semi) intensive mode (4 hours blocks), in-presence mode with compulsory attendance (80%).
The workshop aims to impart knowledge and develop transversal skills relating to work orientation and is organised in three teaching modules. The first focuses on the labour market (In Italy and in some other foreign countries) and its main dynamics and transformations that students should know in order to better orientate their career path. There will be a focus on interpersonal skills and team building.
The second module will focus on Curriculum Vitae construction and job interview management. What do organisations expect and to what extent do they comply with these wishes? In this module we will meet professionals from orientation, human resources and the trade union world.

The third module will focus on professional writing. Expectations with regard to writing may vary according to sector and organisational cultures, but students will learn the main rules of professional report writing (the three Ws, text structure and logic ...).

In addition to the work done with the professor in charge of the course, each teaching module will see the involvement of external guests and a tutor for practical activities (CV writing ...).

Readings/Bibliography

Conceptual-theoretical and practical readings will be assigned and will be available online.

Teaching methods

The workshop will be conducted in presence and with compulsory attendance. Lectures will alternate with practical activities and classroom exercises.

Assessment methods

Students are expected to actively participate in the classroom exercises and carry out the tasks assigned to them by the lecturer and or teaching tutor. At the end of the workshop, they will be asked to write a short report on the skills and knowledge acquired, for which guidelines will be provided. This report, combined with attendance and active participation in all three teaching modules, will enable the student to gain the final qualification.
