Learning outcomes

The student is able to understand and produce a wide range of written texts and oral discourse in German, expressing him/herself with fluency and spontaneity.

The skills achieved at the end of the second year are indicatively at the C1 level.

Course contents

The course aims to improve the knowledge previously acquired (grammar and vocabulary) and consolidate the communication skills. The program is focussed on morphological-syntactic, semantic-pragmatic and lexical analysis. By dealing with a range of written and audiovisual texts the students enhance their knowledge of the current trends in German language and their right usage.

Teaching methods

Lectures, exercises, group work.

The didactic and learning process is dynamic and requires the active participation by the student.

This course will be supported by separate language training sessions (lettorato), aimed at supporting and consolidating writing and speaking skills. Students shall attend at least 70% of course lessons and training sessions.

Assessment methods

Assessment in progress: Active cooperation by the student; written tasks, assigned at regular intervals.

Final assessment: The final examination consists of a written test and an oral examination.

The written test includes

- a text with open questions and the development of a theme;
- a test of grammar and vocabulary;
- a summary of an audio text.

The oral test is subject to passing the written test. On the basis of the presentations done during the course by the candidates, an interview is held in German with a verification of their understanding and ability to explain the work done during the course.

The total mark for the examination in LINGUA E MEDIAZIONE TEDESCA II (FIRST LANGUAGE) is the average between the mark for this module and the one for INTERPRETAZIONE DI TRATTATIVA TEDESCA II (FIRST LANGUAGE).

BAES STUDENTS:
BAES students are also asked at the beginning of each lecture, an oral summary of the previous lecture's content.

The evaluation criteria are:

- knowledge, organization and reworking of the contents;
- morphosynthetic correctness;
- lexical properties and variety;
- communicative effectiveness;
- clarity and correctness of pronunciation.

Learning Rating Scale:

30-30L: Outstanding evidence demonstrating excellent acquisition of expected knowledge, demonstration of proficiency in the language.

27-29: above average evidence, with minor errors or otherwise compensated for by more than sufficient demonstration of the knowledge and skills to be acquired.

24-26: valid proof, but with some problems regarding grammar and vocabulary.

21-23: sufficient proof but with conspicuous limitations in the knowledge and skills to be acquired.

18-20: evidence that meets only the minimum criteria of knowledge and skills to be acquired.

insuff.: insufficient proof that does not demonstrate adequate acquisition of the expected knowledge and skills; the exam should be retaken.
