Learning outcomes
The student will accomplish the following competencies upon successful completion of the course in Human Anatomy:
1. The student will develop a functional knowledge of the basic nomenclature and conventions used to study human anatomy, review the fundamentals of cell biology and selected tissues of the body.
2. The student will be able display knowledge of the relative positions and functions of the major body organs as well as their general anatomical locations for the body systems covered in Human Anatomy.
3. The student will be able to name the anatomical structures associated the systems presented in the laboratory setting (histology, skeletal, muscular, circulatory, visceral, neural).
4. Students will demonstrate competence in differentiating terms relating to the integumentary system.
5. The student will be able to order the events associated with the developmental cycles of somatic and reproductive cell division.
6. The student will be able to explain the major developmental events that occur during the embryonic period.
7. The student will be able to describe, the various types of bones, joints and joint movement.
8. The student will be able to identify the anatomy of all the topics mentioned in the program.
9. The student will be able to locate the structures associated with the brain and spinal cord.

Teaching methods
Lectures with extensive use of images and videos, such as to facilitate the acquisition of fundamental anatomical basis through the stimulation of visual memory. The course is divided into a series of lectures which are accompanied by practical exercises.
Assessment methods
Examination method: written tests on a computer-based platform, consisting of multiple-choice questions (MCQT).
Content: the contents of the written tests will be on subjects forming part of the teaching programme and will require the scientific maturity of the student, a critical judgment on the different notions of topographic anatomy and mastery of anatomical terminology.
Examination and evaluation criteria:
- Written test MCQT: multiple choice questions, composed of 5 possible answers and only one correct answer. No negative score will be given for incorrect answers. The test will consist of 60 MCQ questions, with a single correct answer and the available time will be 1 hour and 30 minutes.
- Exam grade: corresponds to the assessment of the exam and is expressed in trentixes. The exam is passed if the score is at least 18/30.
- The grade of Human Anatomy will make weighted average with the grades obtained in the examination tests, part of the Integrated Course.
- No material may be used during examination tests. As a guideline, books, anatomy atlases, notes, computer support sources such as tablets, smart phones or any other option of material not granted during the examination are strictly prohibited.
- The communication of the results of the written test will take place after the end of the exam, the correction phase and after the validation of the votes.
Registration for the exam appeals: registration for the exam is mandatory to take the exam and will be done by logging in with your credentials of Ateneo, on Alma Esami:(https://almaesami.unibo.it/almaesami/welcome.htm) and completing the computer-based procedure.
