Learning outcomes

By the end of the module, the student will possess knowledge, within their area of expertise, related to the field of traditional and endovascular surgery. They will have specific competence in the study of pathophysiology, methodology, functional and instrumental semiotics, and therapy in vascular surgery.

Course contents

Overview of atherosclerotic pathology and its surgical implications

Aneurysmal disease of the abdominal aorta

Chronic arterial disease of the lower limb arteries

Acute limb ischemia

Cerebrovascular insufficiency due to carotid artery pathology

Chronic venous insufficiency of the lower limbs

Prophylaxis and treatment of thromboembolic disease
