Teaching methods

The course includes lectures and practical exercises in the classroom, individual, and small group settings, with the aim of critically analyzing a scientific article.

Assessment methods

At the end of the course, each student is expected to individually write an essay based on a format prepared by the teacher. The essay consists of a critical analysis of a scientific article identified through the literature search. The student will be asked to use a checklist to assess the quality of the study and evaluate the transferability of the results to their clinical context. The essay should be sent via email to the teachers at least 10 days before the exam date. Each student will also be asked to present the essay orally during the exam, briefly outlining the strengths and weaknesses of the identified article. The presentation of references/connections with the contents of the lessons will be evaluated.

The vote will be defined as follows:

  • 30-30L → excellent creation of the essay in compliance with delivery times, exhaustive display of the chosen article, which is perfectly relevant to the profession

25-29 → complete completion of the essay in compliance with delivery times, adequate display of the chosen article, which is adequately relevant to the profession

  • 20-24 → overall correct completion of the essay, sufficient exposure of the chosen article, which is sufficiently relevant to the profession
  • 18-19 → sufficient completion of the essay, presentation of the main contents of the chosen article
  • < 18 → failure to produce the essay according to the format provided, insufficient exposure of the main contents of the chosen article
