from Mar 03, 2025 to Mar 11, 2025
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course, the student acquires knowledge relating to the basic neurophysiological principles of the Bobath concept referred to the modulation of tone and to guiding activities for functional recovery. Acquires skills, through simulated activities, of postural passages and activities for the control of the trunk and limbs for subjects diagnosed with stroke.
Course contents
Theoretical part
Hints of the following preparatory topics for carrying out the practice part:history of the Bobath concept; patient evaluation and clinical reasoning; communication of information within the CNS: ascending and descending systems; normal movement; upper motor neuron syndrome; postural control and postural adjustments; neural and muscular plasticity; motor control and motor learning; trunk and core-stability; locomotion.
Practice
Illustration and proof of:
- muscle modulation and realignment techniques to send correct proprioceptive information from the periphery to the CNS;
- correct alignment and first therapeutic proposals in the acute phase
- Sit to Stand, Stop Standing, maintenance of the upright position and postural passages;
- treatment of the trunk (evocation of the deep and superficial muscles of the abdomen, linear acceleration, lateral tilt)
- preparation for stance and swing
- upper limb treatment
Comfortable clothing (shorts or sports underwear) is recommended for the practical part.
