Learning outcomes
Acquires the basics of the physiological Electroencephalogram (EEG) and the techniques that can be used for its registration, the characteristics of the physiological EEG both in basal conditions and during the various activation methods. Acquire technical knowledge on the electrodes used and their positioning on the scalp
Course contents
The salient passages in the laboratory from when the patient enters to when he leaves.
The different instrumental investigations of the EEG laboratory.
The sampling of the bioelectrical signal.
Various types of electrode.
Supernumerary electrodes.
Practical exercises on the positioning of the electrodes (pre-wired headphones, zygomatic, supraorbital, emg of the deltoid and flexo-extensor muscles of the carpus, ecg and thoracic respirogram).
Activation tests.
The management of the bad state.
Artifacts.
Artifact tutorial.
Closed circuit recording system.
Behavior of the technician in the event of a crisis; management of interrogation and complications.
Registration and management of non-epileptic paroxysmal manifestations.
Errors in the management of registration and interrogation.
Outline of polygraphy.
Practical exercise on a hostile recording setting.
