Learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student will know the basic principles about the most important diseases caused by pathogen microorganisms, particularly involving the legs.
Course contents
- General principles about diagnosis and therapy of infectious diseases.
- Respiratory tract infections: flu, alveolar and interstitial pneumonia, pulmonary tuberculosis, COVID-19
- Gastro-intestinal infections: cholera, minor salmonellosis
- Viral hepatitis
- Skin and soft tissue infections
- Infectious osteomyelitis, infectious arthritis
- Infectious endocarditis
- Viral and bacterial meningitis
- Arthropod-borne infections: Lyme disease
- Sepsis
- HIV infection and AIDS
