Learning outcomes

At the end of the module, the student possesses the ability to apply knowledge and understanding in orthopedic-traumatology, rheumatology, and neurology at different stages of life. He/she knows how to practice clinical reasoning aimed at problem solving, continuously seeking opportunities for self-learning.

Course contents

MODULE I-ORTHOPEDIC TRAUMA LABORATORY

COLLECT physiological and pathological history data of physiotherapeutic interest.

PERFORM the physiotherapy objective examination for each body district.

SET clinical reasoning steps based on clinical cases.

IDENTIFY therapeutic goals and define the progression of exercise and rehabilitation proposals.

STYLISH the physiotherapeutic diagnosis, according to the ICF model.

VERIFY the achievement of the objectives also in itinere.

Teaching methods

Interactive lectures involving a first part of frontal teaching, followed by discussion on clinical reasoning and simulated clinical case treatments.

Assessment methods

Practical examination lasting 20 minutes. The exam consists of reading a clinical case followed by evaluation, goal setting and proposal of a treatment plan.

Teaching tools

Workshop on real/simulated clinical case within teaching room/department gymnasium using suitable tools, aids and physiotherapy equipment.
