Learning outcomes

At the end of the module the student develops diagnostic reasoning skills, clinical reasoning and develops methodological skills related to care planning. Apply the acquired knowledge related to technical, relational and educational skills. Develop therapeutic education projects. The activity develops in correlation with the internship path and the contents.

Course contents

Assistance to people with difficult wounds and vac therapy Assistance to the person with bandages and vascular bandages Assistance to people with respiratory stomas Assistance to people with intestinal and urinary stomas Assistance to the person with abdominal and thoracic drainage Personal assistance with central venous access, infusion lines and pumps Management of adult and pediatric drug therapy: dosages Insertion and Management of the Naso-Gastric Tube and management of Enteral Nutrition Recognition of the main alterations of the electrocardiographic tracing Therapeutic education - self care

Attendance at Professional Laboratory 2 lessons is mandatory (100%) in order to be able to access the Eligibility test.

Teaching methods

The meetings include simulations, lectures and practical tests by the student. To facilitate learning, it is planned to be divided into groups (of up to 15 students) that will carry out the workshops on different days.

Attendance is 100%

Assessment methods

The exam is oral and includes:

- resolution of a clinical micro-case (identification of priority diagnoses)

- draw for a procedure or drug dosage calculation and drug dilutions for infusion therapy.

Together with in-depth Seminars 1, it constitutes the Integrated Laboratory Course 2 and eligibility implies the positive outcome of both tests.

 

Teaching tools

Use of video projector with slides and videos, exercise with the aid of mannequins / simulators, mannequins and health devices.
