Learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student is expected to acquire the knowledge necessary to apply specific Data Science and Immersive Technologies techniques to Fashion E-Commerce. In particular, the student will be able to individuate the scenarios where such technologies may be fruitfully applied and to adopt them in the design of advanced E-Commerce solutions.
Course contents
The course focuses on the increasing potential and use of data science and immersive technologies for Fashion E-Commerce (FEC). The content that will be presented during the course is organized as follows:
- Presentation and discussion of representative use cases related to the adoption of data science techniques in FEC;
- Presentation and discussion of representative use cases related to the adoption of immersive technologies in FEC;
- Understanding the fundamentals of a data science workflow: data sources, data understanding, data preparation, modeling, evaluation and deployment;
- Fundamentals of immersive technologies, Augmented and Virtual Reality;
- Augmented and virtual reality platforms and solutions.

Assessment methods
Students will be asked to design an own project (individual or groups) from idea, via implementation, testing, evaluation, demonstration, to documentation. No coding skills will be required to complete the project.
