Learning outcomes
The course provides students with the basics of data management (self-service BI), including: the use of spreadsheets, simple databases and their interface with company information systems. At the end of the course, students have basic skills on: - usage of personal computers, spreadsheets and simple databases; - create simple KPIs for monitoring; - interface tools with company IT systems.
Course contents
Introduction to business data management.
Data management in MS Excel via functions, pivoting, vlookup, primary keys, calculated fields, pivots, pivot charts.
Data management in MS Excel Power Pivot and Power BI.
Introduction to the DAX language for MS Excel Power Pivot and Power BI.

Teaching methods
Lectures and practical applications in laboratory.
Important note: up to 20 Erasmus students can be accepted, the criteria will be "first come, first served".
Assessment methods
Practical test at the PC on MS Excel Power Pivot / MS Power BI, plus a few theory open questions.
The course mark is numeric (from 0 to 30), numeric marks correspond to the following grades:
<18 insufficient
18-23 sufficient
24-27 good
28-30 very good
30 cum laude excellent
