Learning outcomes
At the end of the seminar the student is able to: - autonomously apply the specific techniques learned; - discuss with other subjects over the methods and documentation techniques learned; - place the specific knowledge learned in different types of social work or service; - evaluate the limits and merits of the technical instruments learned; - adapt and transfer the technologies learned in different contexts.
Course contents
The workshop provides the necessary tools to allow students to acquire some basic techniques of ethnographic research. through the discussion in the classroom - starting from some readings of ethnographic research - we will deal with issues of the contemporary world, in particular in the aspects inherent to the world of the prevention of discomfort and that of its management in educational terms. in a second moment, the students - collectively or individually - will experience a moment of "participant observation" in order to train themselves in the ethnographic gaze, capable of suggesting concrete possibilities of operative intervention in social distress.
