Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to convey to the student the basic knowledge and the main tools of fund raising for nonprofit organizations. At the end of the course the student is able to: - know and apply strategies, tools, methodologies of fund raising - analyze and use the different techniques to ensure economic sustainability, organizational and strategic nonprofit companies; - to develop a critical vision on the topic.
Course contents
The course focuses on fundraising for non profit organizations (NPOs) and aims to provide an overview of models and techniques for fundraising in NPOs and to present the main approaches adopted by management to develop effective fundraising strategies and to ensure their effective implementation.

Teaching methods
The course program is deepened by a mixed method:
- Lectures with examples and cases;
- Discussion of case studies with group work;
- Fundraisers testimonials;
- Project work
- Classroom exercises.
Assessment methods
The final exam is made of 2 parts:
- Oral exam (Mandatory) - 3 questions (10 pts each)
- Project work (Optional) - 3 pts
1. Compulsory oral test. Maximum score 30 points
The interview is designed to ascertain theoretical knowledge and ability to critically analyze the contents of the program.
3 questions of 10 points each:
10: excellent and very thorough and comprehensive knowledge of the topics covered in the course, ability to critically analyze and make connections, mastery of specific terminology.
8-9: excellent knowledge of a wide range of topics covered in the course, good analytical and critical skills, mastery of specific terminology;
7-8: technically adequate preparation but with some limitations with respect to the topics covered, good analytical skills, although not particularly articulate, expressed in correct language;
6: sufficient preparation and analytical skills but related to a limited number of topics covered in the course, use of overall correct language;
≤5 insufficient
2. Optional project work. Maximum score obtainable 3 points
The project work is a group work concerning the application of fundraising techniques to concrete cases. It will be presented by students at the end of the course.Non-attending students have the opportunity to do the Project Work individually.
The PW is made of 3 assignment. 1 point for each assignment
1 pt: Excellent analytical skills, application of concepts learned in the course, ability to relate to the group, development of critical thinking and ability to go in-depth
0,7 pt: Good analytical ability, ability to relate to the group, and good application of concepts learned during the course
0,5 pt: Sufficient ability to analyze, relate to the group, application of concepts learned.
0 pt Insufficient ability to analyze limited aspects, limited ability to use concepts learned during the course.
The final grade will be expressed in thirtieths and will be given by the sum of the two scores.
