Learning outcomes
Knowledge about the neurophysiological basic principles of Bobath concept related to the modulation of tone and to the activity of guiding to the functional recovery.
SKills through simulated activities, postural passages and activities for the trunk and limbs control for persons with the stroke diagnosis.
Course contents
Mention of the following topics necessary for the execution of the practical part: History of the Bobath concept; Patient assessment and clinical reasoning; Normal movement; The upper motor neuron syndrome; Postural control and postural adjustments; The neural and muscle plasticity; Motor control and motor learning; The trunk and core-stability; Locomotion;The 24-Hour approach.
Practical part: treatment techniques related to mobility - Stop Standing, Sit to Stand, posture passages -; Trunk treatment - evocation of the deep and superficial muscles of the abdomen, linear acceleration, lateral tilt -; Preparation to the stance and to the swing; upper limb treatment; Muscles modulation and realignment techniques of different body areas.
