Course contents

The course will focus on the following grammatical topics topics:

Chinese modal auxiliary verbs and negation forms; Chinese adjective and its verbal funtion; prepositional phrase and its syntax; Chinese localizers.

The course will give prominence to time-tense distinction and how to express time reference in Chinese.

The course will also pay attention to the sentence final particle le and its relation to time.

The student will be able to read and understand a simple text. Also, he will be able to express themselves in Chinese and develop basic communication skills

Teaching methods

During the course, the students will be constantly prompted to summarize short texts, answer questions, and explain the grammatical content of all the teaching materials exposed in the semester.

Assessment methods

The final exam will be a grammatical test, transcription of Chinese characters with pinyin system of romanization, translation of short sentences from Italian to Chinese and of a brief text from Chinese to Italian.

The oral exam will prompt the student to read and summarize some of the texts explained during the course. The students will also have to ansewr to some questions pertaining to the content of the texts and their grammatical features.
