Learning outcomes
One variable Calculus: Theory with Proofs and Exercises.
Course contents
Taylor formula. Convex functions on the real line. Riemann integral on the real line. Fundamental Theorem(s) of Calculus. Antiderivatives. Improper integrals. Linear ordinary differential equations of degree one and two.
Readings/Bibliography
In order to have a deeper and broader understanding of the material, the students can find useful the following texts:
Ermanno Lanconelli, Analisi Matematica 1, Ed. Pitagora;
Enrico Giusti, Analisi Matematica 1, Ed. Boringhieri;
Walter Rudin, Real and Complex Analysis, Mcgraw-Hill.
Teaching methods
Traditional lectures and exercise sessions.
Assessment methods
The student has to pass both (1) a written test, and (2) an oral test. She/he is admitted to the oral test only if she/he passed the written test with at least a 15/30 grade. The written test consists in exercises on the material covered in the course.
The student can take the oral test within the same period in which she/he took the written test.
The oral test is mainly concerned with the theory: definitions, theorems and their proofs, the relationship between various theorems and definitions.
Teaching tools
The notes from the class will be made available on AMS Campus.
