Learning outcomes
Students will learn evidence-based limits and indications of psychotherapies.
Course contents
1. Scientific assessment of psychotherapy. Some aspects of control and randomization.
2. Methodology and design of psychotherapy research.
3. Process and outcome evaluation. The variables linked to the patient, therapist and setting.
4. Evidence-based treatment of mood, anxiety and eating disorders, schizophrenia, personality disturbances. Treatment of somatization.
5. Neurobiological effects of psychotherapy.
Psychodynamic therapy (prof Baldaro):

- brief psychotherapy
The course will take place during the first semester (from October to November 2014) at the Cesena Campus of the School of Psychology and Education.

The final evaluation will consist in a written exam with open ended questions aimed to assess the student's knowledge regarding the topics included in the textbook and discussed in class.
