Learning outcomes
The course is based on two modules: in the first one the student shall acquire the knowledge about the Growth Theory, the General System Theory and the political paradigm of Sustainable Development with their applications at different scales in the tourism and territorial system. The concept of Tangible and Intangible Heritage, Innovation, Creativity, Authenticity will be debated for a new dynamic definition. The second module is devoted to Heritage project and planning: the student becomes familiar with simulation and presentation of geographical projects related to local developmentm in particular with creation and promotion of cultural itineraries and themed routes. The studenti will also learn cartographic fundements, some GIS, digital heritage and augmented reality (AR) with practical exercizes with field visits and trip.
Course contents
The program is divided into two parts, the first one dedicated to general themes of tourism, the heritage and the specific topics of the course, with emblematic case studies to interpret the presented theoretical basis, and the second is devoted to application with the focus of the theme of cultural routes and tangible and intangible heritage. Each module consists of 30 hours of lessons and the overcoming of both allows the acquisition of 8 credits. Attendance is not compulsory . During the course there will be seminars and the students have to develop an original project ( a team of 2/3 of students for attending students and an individual project for students who do not attend). Teaching methods
In the general part the topics are presented the theories of growth, general system, and sustainability declined with tourism and Heritage. Interactive lessons with the involvement of the student deal with the theme of the tourism product, linked to the experiential component, creative and authentic in the international framework. The course is supported by laboratory exercises where the student is followed individually to develop their creative skills for the design of tourism products (eg, cultural itineraries and tourist systems), competitive in the international and Italian context as to be able to identify and solve the weaknesses and to face the global competition. These activities are planned so that the student can design a tourism product in line with the theoretical framework discussed in class. Seminars teachers with national and international teachers and field trips round out their experience. The course is divided : the 50% to classroom lessons, the 20%, to seminars and testimonials from professionals, the 10% to field trip, the 20% to self-employment and original student for 20%
Assessment methods
For students attending the course:
1. Intermediate oral examination concerning the topics presented during the first module
2. Presentation of an original project by 2/3 students with written report and maps during the second module in the classroom.
3. Final oral examination concerning the topics during the second module (questions about the ethics, theories, concepts and applications)
The final oral examination must be supported compulsory in the first session
For students who don't have followed the course:
Final oral examination for the evaluation of the two modules and with presentation of an original project. The written report and maps must be send via email to the teachers (fiorella.dallari@unibo.it)
