Learning outcomes

Students will learn the numerous and diversified historical identities that poetics and rhetorics have acquired, from ancient times to contemporary age. They will also learn how to read one of the classics within that framework.

Course contents

General title of the course: Linguistic Overturnings of Metaphysics. Nietzsche and Heidegger on the Essence of Language.
Title of the first part of the course (6 CFU): "Nietzsche and Rhetorics as Unmasking of the Artificial Character of Language".  Title of the second part of the course (6 CFU): "Heidegger and 'Logic' as Investigation of the Essence of Language".  The aim of the course is to study in depth the issue of the essence of language by the means of a comparative analysis of the philosophical positions of Plato, Nietzsche and Heidegger. The course will start on the 5th of February 2014. Time and place: Wednesday, 11-13 (Aula A, via Centotrecento 18); Thursday, 15-17 (Aula A, via Zamboni 34); Friday, 11-13 (Aula A, via Zamboni 34).
