Course contents

Monographic Course: The wars during the early modern period

Attendance is recommended. The course aims to continue the wars during the early modern period, focusing in particular on the analysis of innovations prepared in the field of military art over the centuries XV-XVIII.

The examination is oral, in different ways for students attending and not attending

Students attending
The preparation is divided into the following three points, A, B e C:
A. General history of the period 1492-1815

manual recommended:

Carlo Capra,Storia moderna (1492-1848), Firenze, Le Monnier, 2004

It is advisable to supplement the study of the manual with the use of a historical atlas.

B. Methodology


The preparation is carried out on the lecture notes and materials provided during the course.

C. Monographic course

Students will read two texts critically, as they choose from the list included under Testi/Bibliografia



Students not attending

They will prepare the following three points A, B, C.

A. General history of the period 1492-1815
