Learning outcomes
The course wants to focus on the social and cultural history.
Course contents
The course will focus on themes peculiar to contemporary history
through the analysis of cultural and mental processes of men
and women considered as historical protagonists.
This is a kind of history based not on singular events but on the
study of transformations that help to better understand modern
society. This history focuses basically on:
- living conditions;
- emotions;
- Collective and individual behaviours.
The area of study is that of social history, that is the history of
those men and women usually “forgotten” by political history.
The course envisages also in-depth studies on the theme of
“Risorgimento and theatre”. Special attention will be given to
contemporary gender studies.
