  • Docente: Davide Moro
  • Credits: 3
  • SSD: ING-IND/07
  • Language: Italian
  • Teaching Mode: In-person learning (entirely or partially)
  • Campus: Forli
  • Corso: First cycle degree programme (L) in Aerospace Engineering (cod. 8263)

Learning outcomes

The main objective is to give to students the basic know-how necessary to properly design experimental tests to be conducted in a test rig, to acquire data, and to analyze them in order to obtain the required information on the turbine or engine under study.

Course contents

Introduction to the use of a test bed.
Analog and digital signals.
Sampling theorem and aliasing.
Sensors and instrumentation employed in a test bed.
Experimental tests
Visit to a test bed for engines and turbines.
Experimental tests and data acquisition.
Data analysis
Data analysis in order to obtain information on the behavior of the engines or turbine tested.
Four different analysis will be performed both on turbines and engines.

Readings/Bibliography

Teaching methods

The course is based on theoretical lectures on theory of measurements, tests carried out in the lab, and data analysis.

Assessment methods

A written report on the activities made by each student during this laboratory is required; the final exam will be a oral discussion on the topics presented.

Teaching tools

Exercises will be carried out in the computer room, using Matlab-Simulink.
