Students will complement the knowledge acquired in the field of Mechanics of Machines with application examples and laboratory experiences.

- Motors and gearmotors. Application examples concerning
the selection and verification of motors and gearmotors for
mechanical drives.
- Elastodynamic modeling. Elastodynamic modeling of a power transmission with ball screw.
- Motion synthesis. Properties of motion laws.
- Cams. Types of cam mechanisms. Graphical synthesis of disc cams. Kinematic and static analysis. Pressure angle. Undercutting. Base circle. Synthesis of the motion law. Spatial cams.
- Intermittent motion mechanisms. Freewheels. Geneva wheel. Indexers.
- Planar linkages. Synthesis of the crank-rocker four-bar linkage. Quick-return mechanisms. Dwell linkages. Linear guides. Force-multiplication mechanisms.
- Spatial linkages. Transformation matrix. Position analysis of closed-chain linkages. Introduction to industrial robots: direct and inverse kinematic analyses.
- Introduction to fluid power. General principles. Hydraulic pumps and motors. Hydraulic cylinders. Distributors. Other components. Hydraulic circuits. Hydrostatic transmission. Regulation.
