Learning outcomes

The students will have to be able to project , elaborate and estimate the didactic itineraries of the Greek language and culture and possess the necessary critical awareness in order to cope with urgent problems of teaching and learning the Greek language and culture under present circumstances and in order to estimate the possible prospects of this discipline in the future.

Course contents

The teaching will include only a module covered by Professor Maria Grazia Albiani, with the collaboration of Dr. Bijoy M. Trentin.

Exploratory didactic itineraries into the survival of the Greek language and culture in the school.

2.      four essays available in Salvatore Settis (ed.) , I Greci, 4 voll., Torino, Einaudi, 1996-2002 or other essays/ articles which will be settled by the teachers;

3.      Giovanna Alvoni, Scienze dell'antichità per via informatica. Banche dati, Internet e risorse elettroniche nello studio dell'antichità classica, with supplements by Ulrich Rausch and introduction by Franco Montanari, Bologna, CLUEB, 2002, at least the pages 9-149 (La ricerca bibliografica and Banche dati testuali);

- Reading in Greek and in Italian translation (the texts will be settled by the teachers).

For the interdisciplinary planning is advised the refreshed reading of the literary part by means of Bijoy M. Trentin, Leggere i Greci. Percorsi di letteratura e cultura greca , Milano, Alpha Test, 2008 (from internet: http://www.alphatest.it/libri/libro.php?codice=978-88-483-0906-6) .

Further auxiliary bibliography will be indicated during the lectures. Every student will be asked to choose needed instruments for his own didactic task.

Teaching methods

Lectures will have for the most part the character of seminaries: the students in cooperation with teachers will take into consideration some examples of possible topics from linguistic or literary field and confront the didactic items available through the ever used various instruments.

Assessment methods

The examination will be oral. On the one side the teachers will ascertain by means of a series of questions the knowledges concerning the methodologies taught to the students during the lectures and corroborated by the bibliography given to them. On the other side the students will present a didactic itinerary elaborated by them on topics choosen by themselves.

Pc ,luminous blackboard, videoprojectors, photocopies.
