Learning outcomes

The course aims to provide basic musical competences and theoretical/methodological tools for activities with sounds and music in nurseries and pre-schools, as well as operative tools for sound education training.

1. The educator's “musical” professional profile

  • · Basic, technical/professional, cross-disciplinary skills
  • · Social representation of music by nursery teachers

2. Auditory perception and development of musicality in early childhood

  • · Prenatal stage
  • · Babbling, baby-talk, vocal structure of Self
  • · Vocal scheme and body scheme
  • · Sensory and motor exploration: voice, body, objects
  • · Musical interaction between children/adults and between peers

3. Children's musical "conducts" in their daily routine

  • · Meals
  • · Changing
  • · Sleeping
  • · Free play

4. Planning: training as a first stage in professionalization

  • Organisation of spaces and materials
  • Observation of children's sound and musical conducts
  • Role of educator and intervention strategies
  • Experiences of action-research
  • Documentation

Erasmus Project:

· The course includes 2 lessons with Prof. Michel Imberty, University of Paris X -Nanterre, France, on musical development in early childhood, and with Prof. Emmanuel Bigand, University of Dijon, France, on music perception and development.

Click on Progetto Erasmus under the title Facoltà di Scienze della Formazione

Then click on the name of the course that interests you.

The first time you use the site you will have to create a new account. Please follow the steps outlined below

  3. Read your email, and click on the web link it contains.

  4. Your account will be confirmed and you will be logged in.
